When I retired from the Coast Guard in 2022 I knew I was going to grow a beard. Before signing up I almost never shaved, then for 20 years I missed having a beard. As my beard grew longer and required more and more products to keep it maintained I got sick of buying small portion products mean for neatly trimmed hair. I started making balms, butters, and waxes for myself back in the spring of 2024, and I’m very excited to start selling to all the long (and short) beard wearers both in Alaska and all over the world.
All my beard care products contain no parabens, chemicals you can’t pronounce, or mystery ingredients. Locally sourced ingredients known for their medical benefits and pleasant aromas make for one of a kind products!
- Devils Club – known as S’áxt’ by the local Tlingit people, has been used as an ointment for centuries.
- Old Man’s Beard – used commonly in teas to soothe sore throats and noses.
- Fireweed – This legendary flower with its sweet smell is known throughout Alaska. It is said that once the last blossom closes Alaska is only 6 weeks from the first snow.
- Cedarwood oil – Although cedars aren’t abundant in Southeast Alaska they can be found, and the oil smells delightful!
- Glacier silt – used in combination with other ingredients to give silky smooth texture to style clays.
